Olive trees have grown naturally in the region for thousands of years. They provided the ancient peoples
that settled here with essential nutrition for a long and healthy life from cradle to grave.
Olive groves make up about 25 acres of the Farm’s total land. The climate, rolling slopes and clay soil
provide the perfect conditions to promote vigorous growth. The olives are harvested by hand just as they
begin to mature, when they are at their most aromatic and least acidic. They are then carefully pressed
cold to ensure that their flavour and aroma is concentrated and heightened further.
Only the very best olives are selected to produce Extra Virgin Olive Oil D.O.P Marino from the farm’s
small but high quality olive groves. The olives are a golden yellow colour and have a characteristic,
fruity flavour. Our oil is ideal for use in roasting or frying, or is delicious simply poured on salad, on
fresh or cooked vegetables, soups, meat or grilled fish.
